I'm going to be undergoing promotion examination!

The review details are "Two-person attendance."
Many people have only practiced basics, so their hearts are so exciting!

The screening will be held at the end of December, so until then we will practice with the cooperation of dojo members.

About the two-person

In Aikido, we practice not only one-on-one, but also one-on-many patterns.
The attacker (snap) may have bare hands or carry a wooden sword, dagger or staff.

I actually tried to be surrounded by about 6 people, and it was so scary that my pores opened.

So what does a two-person group actually do?
Let's watch the two-person group at the demonstration session of the great teacher, Sunatomo Kanhide.
(From around 1 minute and 40 seconds)

It may seem like Sunamome-sensei is cutting lightly, but this is difficult.
In particular, I'm currently practicing hard on the final four-way pitch.

The trick seems to be to relax.
Move only the "contact" with the other person.
This is the ultimate teaching method.

I actually tried practicing. (No video)

After the practice, we borrowed time from everyone to practice.

The movements to be carried out are as follows:
1. Have them take their hands and throw them forward
2. Have them take their hands and throw them back.
3. Have the two of them take their hands, throw them on the right side and pull on the left side.

We actually had a senior who had been judged to apply the technique.
I can manage 1 and 2, but the problem is 3. It looks like that.

The basic practice of throwing the four sides is to rotate outwards, but there is also a method of turning inwards.
When you're around the inside, you can drag your opponent down with one hand, which is convenient.

This 3. The technique involves throwing four sides around the inside with your right hand.
The left hand is dangerous because it is still "normal" and throws opponents from above and then hits them down.
Therefore, by pulling the left hand, you can switch between each other and become passive, making it safe.

Especially the person you are taking the right hand is easier for people who are taller than you.
So on the day of the examination, you will naturally be limited to who you will be asked. . . .

Two people at another dojo

There was a video of a two-person attendant from the Saga University Aikido Club, the dojo of Manseikan Aikido, which is in the same affiliated with the dojo I attend.
It's been a while but it's helpful.

This is a two-person train with weapons.
What's more, they each attack at random!

After I've applied 1, 2, and 3, I think I'll try taking this random attack?
It's kind of exciting!

Demonstrations are something you create yourself, so it's fun to incorporate a variety of movements.
Another appeal of Aikido is the joy of being able to do things that you can't do.

summary

Well, for some reason I'm getting excited! ?
The examination up to the first dan made me so nervous my heart came out of my mouth.

But why can you enjoy it this time?
Maybe it's because it was your goal of the 2nd dan?

Do you say this is a sense of accomplishment (although I haven't achieved it yet)?

As I wrote in my previous article, you will not be able to grow yourself unless you "seek yourself."
Not only do we learn, but we also keep on asking questions, and we all get involved and "compete" together to grow.

I think that's the best.

There are still many movements that I've never practiced before.
I have no experience in the weapon type, and the basic breathing power itself is still incomplete.

It is probably not possible to learn this when you practice to find breathing power.
I think "breathing power" is something that naturally follows you in the process of growing together with everyone towards your goals.

In that sense, I think the experience with this review will be a great plus.

Now, I'm going to practice again today!

It was Taiko.
