The Bon holiday has come to an end and normal days have returned.
Aikido practice will also resume today.
It is said that it will get cooler after the bonbori, but the temperature seems to have dropped slightly.
Still, it's hot in the rehearsal room so I'm turning three fans @@;
Today's training included 6 people, including three adults and three children.
Even though they are children, one person is in the sixth grade, so it's perfectly fine to treat them the same as adults.
Being one with the other.
When I explain the concept of "knot" they listen enthusiastically.
I had a bit of a rebellious phase though💦
In practice, children and adults should always combine them.
I am also in the position of teaching as a dan, so I pay close attention to words and reactions.
Parents are also watching, so they can't slacking off.
At the end of the training, each adult threw 10 free moves.
Since the break was over, everyone was slow^^;
After the practice, as usual, adults will have a cool conversation outside drinking juice alone.
This time there were three people: the teacher, me, and a female dan.
We chatted about our hobbies of high school baseball and music, and eventually we talked about Aikido.
The conclusion that came to mind is that if you go into the pursuit of Aikido, you will end up with the "spirit of Aikido."
The "Spirit of Aikido" was created by summarizing the teachings that Professor Sunatomo received from Professor Ueshiba.
Before practice, we always read out this "Aikido spirit" out loud.
Since it doesn't exist in other organizations, I sometimes get asked, "What is that?"
But I think it's a very well written sentence.
Aiki is love. The path of martial arts must be to use the heart of heaven and earth as our heart, and to complete our mission with the great spirit of all-environmental protection. Aiki is a path of absolute self-completion that overcomes the self and fights against the enemy, and no, eliminates the enemy itself. In fact, martial arts are the work and path that transfers heavenly principles and methods into the body and leads to the supreme boundary of the spiritual and flesh united.
This is the spirit of Aikido.
What part of this spirit hasn't been achieved through Aikido training?
Why can't you do it? I'll always keep thinking about that.
Especially the first thing about "aiki is love."
Aikido is a martial art that is not intended for matches.
If the goal is to play a match, there will always be a win or loss.
Strong or weak? That becomes the essence.
be something like,
"How do you attack the opponent's weakness?" Of course, if you're going to play a match, but Aikido is different.
Bring out the good points of the other person and guide them together.
That is why it is said that "aiki is love."
Aikido is boring because there are no matches.
Many people in martial arts are saying this, but they probably find it boring because they have different basic perspectives.
So, it doesn't matter what the "spirit of Aiki" is! This idea is not aimless, just want to get better.
I simply want to get the stage and be satisfied.
I don't feel human charm to such people, and I don't want to be taught, even if it's 10th dan.
I think that the spirit of Aikido is not something you understand, but rather something you form within yourself in your own way.
It reminds me of Professor Sunamari's discourse, "Do your Aikido."
There's no correct answer. What do you want to be? That's what's important.
My goal of Aikido is to become a "give" person who can guide me along with others.
That's why I always think about the "spirit of Aikido" while rehearsals and work.
I don't want to be just a technician, so I want to be an Aikido artist as a person.
It was Taiko.
