Aikido is a martial art that helps you grow.
Don't compare yourself to others.
Compare your past self with your current self.
The following sentence is in the spirit of Aikido:
"The path of absolute self-completion"
Compare yourself with your past self and feel the growth you are able to achieve now.
That's what it means.
Why we're talking about this? Next to today's practice there was a kendo practice.
It seems that the tournament is near, so everyone was practicing enthusiastically.
In Aikido, children were often distracted by kendo and were unable to concentrate.
I guess it's easier to understand if you're focusing on the competition?
I also thought so.
That's why I rethink my mindset when practicing martial arts.
A side note.
When compared to the other person, they may have an unnecessary inferiority complex.
It also leads to a match-centered way of thinking.
There are no matches in Aikido.
This is not a ban on games,
This means that the game hasn't been set as the goal.
Even if I win today, I might lose tomorrow.
The world is impermanent.
It's changing rapidly.
So compare yourself to your past self.
