Hello, this is Taiko!

December 24th was the last day of Aikido practice.
I'd like to thank you for working hard without any injuries for a year.

2019 was a fulfilling year, attending instructor seminars and joint demonstrations in Aso.
And above all, I was most happy that I was able to successfully complete the "promotion examination" the other day.

I would like to look back on that year.

Participation in instructor seminars

Since becoming the first dan in 2018, I have participated in the "Instructor Seminar Rehears" several times.
This involves three hours of training at the headquarters dojo in Aso, provided that there are three dan members from each dojo.

Compared to regular exchange practice, the purpose is to have the instructor become an instructor, so the content is also rich.
In particular, the federation I belong to thoroughly practice breathing skills.
Simply put, "breathing power" is a unique use of power in Aikido.

In order to use your breathing power, it is important to "relax" your strength.
However, this is not easy to do.

It's been five years since I started doing Aikido, but I still don't know how strong I can breathe.
I would like to make this my goal for next year.

Participated in the Aso Mountain Flag Aikido demonstration competition

For more information, please refer to the following article.

The Japan Aikido Promotion Federation, a demonstration event called
"Aso Mountain Flag Sports Festival Supporting Exercises" was held, and I also participated.

It was hosted by Aso City, so I was very enthusiastic.
The first half was a joint practice session.
The second half was a demonstration event, and I also performed an demonstration with my senior members.

There were many things to reflect on, but I have clarified my goals for next year.
I would like to participate again next time.

Get promotion examination

The last mission of the year!
I was promoted to 2nd Dan.

It's been two years since I first started, and I was able to take the exam because I have completed the training days.

What should I do with 2nd Dan? That's what I was thinking.
Then the teacher told me to "two people."

I've seen it before, but this was my first time actually trying it, so I caught a member on my way back to practice and continued to practice for about a month.
And somehow I managed to complete it on the day.

I am truly grateful to those who asked me to take the day.
thank you very much!

And at the end of the training session, the teacher gave me 10 consecutive throws.

Next year I'll go on a diet and lighten my body!

summary

This year, I practiced normally at the beginning of the year.
For the first six months I was focused on studying in the seminar, so I couldn't take part in the training session.

However, the seminar has calmed down, and the promotion examinations have been accepted, so from now on I can concentrate on Aikido.
At the same time, it is likely that you will also be qualified as an instructor.

Before you teach others, you can't talk if you can't do it.
So my goal for next year is

・Diet (80kg)
・Achieve breathing skills
・Actually experience as a teacher

I'll try my best (and have fun) to get these three goals.

Thank you for this year too!
